Job Title: Area Manager Salary: £35,000 Location: Midlands Our client, a fast-growing group of Nursery schools, is looking for a fantastic Area Manager to join their team. Key Responsibilities: Drive and deliver the highest standards of care and quality at all sites as detailed in the childcare audit and OFSTED inspections. Implement, maintain, and review the communication between HO, all nurseries, parents /carers, and outside agencies/ authorities as appropriate. Implement all policies, such as Safeguarding and Health & Safety using an outside agency if needed. Act as safeguarding liaison, keep updated with safeguarding updates, ensure managers are well informed of policies and are implementing them effectively. Review current policies yearly, and amend as necessary Action and monitor (or assist managers where needed) all child protection issues, parent issues, complaints, and accidents to ensure that remedial action is taken immediately. Liaise with managers to ensure accurate relevant staff personnel files, ensuring all suitability checks and paperwork are in place and carry out regular random audits and checks of staff files. Plan recruitment, interviewing and hiring of staff, and work with the training manager to assist in researching, developing, and delivering opportunities for staff. Oversee and ensure that all managers are competently trained and a thorough training plan is in place for each one. Oversee all planning including compliance of staffing ratios at each setting, including organising staff cover when necessary. Assisting the directors in monitoring financial budgets and expenditure in the nurseries. Provide regular feedback on performance to nursery Managers and carry out appraisals and supervisions on a regular basis Develop open and positive working relationships with nursery teams. Internal marketing helping to promote our objectives to all employees and build loyalty, skill, and engagement. Nurturing communication and collaboration among employees, HQ, and managers. The purpose is to increase employee engagement with the company goals and fostering brand advocacy. Agree and review individual targets and objectives with nursery managers. Ensure that managers are actively promoting their settings and participating in marketing activities and assist them to achieve occupancy and revenue targets. Liaise with the operational and financial area of the business to ensure effective use of management systems and information. Inform directors of progress, changes, and performance of all sites. Ensure managers are informed of appropriate changes or updates. Take full responsibility in any absences of the managers and cover in nursery rooms if required. Assist and support managers with any inspections including Ofsted. Attend meetings/courses/workshops relevant to the role to keep up to date with legislation. Carry out regular inspections on all sites and provide written reports and feedback. Overseeing absenteeism, flexible working applications and weekly staff meetings. Audits of employee s supervisions/ appraisals.
