Business Improvement Specialist Bristol - Hybrid £45,089 - £55,406 + pension (matched up to 8%) + 25 days holiday Full Time / Permanent Job ID: SF44654 We have an opportunity for a Business Improvement Specialist, to join our Submarine Support Engineering team (SSE), within Babcock Naval Nuclear area, based in Bristol. The Business Improvement Team is dedicated to focusing on supporting areas of Babcock, by facilitating new ways of working based on the application of lean principles and practices that will target the elimination of waste as an enabler to grow the business and add customer value. Who we are looking for? As a Business Improvement Specialist, we are looking for you to be adaptable and be un-phased by changing priorities. You will be able to actively seek new knowledge and enjoy a challenge, whilst working within a busy and varied environment. You will have a good working knowledge of delivering lean improvement projects and have a demonstrative portfolio of applying this within an operational excellence framework of understanding. We are looking for you to be able to work independently across the whole organisation, with little or no supervision, and equally as part of an improvement team and the wider Babcock community. What will you be doing? In your role as a Business Improvement Specialist, you will report to the Business Improvement Manager, and be a proactive member of a small team in identifying and defining business improvement initiatives across a wide range of both simple and complex activities. Your responsibilities will include, but won't be limited to: Delivering Just-Do-It activities Working on Lean projects Own and deliver operational excellence training across the business Focusing on Operational Excellence assessments and bench-marking teams against best practice Supporting cultural learning and change Promoting CI tools and techniques as well as CI mentoring and support Contributing towards, and owning, strategy improvement planning The experience you'll bring Hold an HNC / Degree or equivalent qualification within a STEM discipline or relevant experience Have Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance. What a role with Babcock offers?
