The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) seeks an Education Executive (Scholarship Scheme) on a full-time (35-hour week) temporary basis for 23 months. In the UK, we are the largest non-governmental funder of chemistry education, and we influence government policy to ensure that opportunities to develop skills meet the unique needs of chemistry. As our Education Executive (Scholarship Scheme), you will work with teams across the RSC, and will project manage the delivery of our Initial Teacher Training scholarship scheme, which we administer on behalf of the Department for Education in England. This includes activities relating to recruitment and a scholar support package to successful scholars. You will have: • A degree level qualification in science, or a teaching qualification or equivalent experience. • Good project management and time management skills, including the ability to plan and prioritise work, and to meet deadlines under pressure. • Proven ability to successfully manage internal and external relationships, developing networks and responding to challenging situations with tact and sensitivity. • Customer focussed approach with excellent interpersonal skills (particularly verbal and written skills). • An understanding of secondary school chemistry education and initial teacher training routes in England. • Some experience of managing externally funded projects, including financial processing and reporting. • Some experience of organising online or in-person events. As an organisation we are embracing hybrid working, and homeworking/remote working in the UK could be considered for this role.
