Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate - Domestic Abuse Support Worker Hours: 35 hours a week full time Salary: £26,210-£28,568 per annum Location: East Lothian and Midlothian Holidays: 6 weeks entitlement annual leave, rising to 8 weeks annual leave after one year of employment (pro rata) Pension: 5% employer contribution to a personal pension plan on completion of 3 months employment. Full Time Post: Fixed term - funding is secured until March 2025 As a Support Worker, travel across East Lothian and Midlothian is required therefore a driving licence and access to a car is essential. The Social Care Community Partnership are currently recruiting for a full time Domestic Abuse Support Worker for Women's Aid East and Midlothian. Reporting directly to a Service Manager, the IDAA Worker is expected to work with minimum supervision in both aspects of the role. You will be expected to deliver short term, responsive support to women who have experienced domestic abuse. This will be face to face support by office based appointments and outreach visits, as well as support by telephone and video conference. WAEML provides information, support and accommodation to women (including trans-women), children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. As a Women's Support Worker you will provide the highest possible standard of support to women, children and young people accessing the service. WAEML positively welcomes applicants from within all sections of the community although are exempt under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 and therefore only women need apply. Key responsibilities: To respond to new referrals generated via the Domestic Abuse Referral Pathway following reports of domestic abuse incidents to Police Scotland and also via Marac. Provide a support service to women subjected to domestic abuse who are referred to the MARAC process. To manage a caseload of clients providing information, advocacy and support in relation to recent experiences (within the last 3 months) of domestic abuse to those assessed as being at very high or high risk from an abusive partner/ex-partner. Provide qualitative and statistical information, prepare and present verbal / written reports such as case studies, and contribute to effective monitoring and evaluation of the Domestic Abuse Referral Pathway and MARAC as required, including reporting on identified gaps between and within services and carrying out systemic advocacy as required. Qualifications and experience: Minimum of 1 years' experience working within the field of domestic abuse. SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
