Job Description:
We have an immediate opening for an experienced Process Engineer to support the continued growth of food, beverage, and personal care divisions. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of sanitary process and industry terminology.
This position is based at our ESL/Aseptic Division Center in Woodland, WA, but will also require travel to support field installation and on-site commissioning at customer sites throughout the US.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, configure and optimize process systems from inception through start up and completion
  • Identify and specify plant requirements by meeting with customer personnel, reviewing customer provided documents and drawings, conducting mass balances, heat transfer calculations, fluid flow calculations
  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Work with designers and engineers developing General Arrangement and Elevation Layouts
  • Develop performance and take-over criteria for new process
  • Prepare system cost estimates and customer proposal documents
  • Specify, select and procure equipment, instrumentation and services
  • Manage project schedule and on-site installation
  • Start-up, run, and test process
  • Develop process and functional descriptions of the process
  • Prepare documentation packages for completed projects
  • Provide process documentation and operating instructions
  • Prepare and give presentations to customers

 

Requirements:
  • 5 + years of work experience as a process engineer or project manager--specifically in dairy and/or beverage industry
  • Experience with Extended Shelf Life (ESL) and Aseptic process systems
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Knowledge of process related standards PMO, 3A, CFR 21 part 113
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work either independently and/or as a member of a team
  • Capability of handling a variety of projects simultaneously-from simple to complex and from large to small
  • Demonstrate creative skills and techniques in problem solving
  • Use foresight and mature judgement in avoiding, anticipating and solving problems
  • Ability to travel, 20-50%, to support sales, customer sites, training, commissioning, startups for projects as needed
  • Ability to self-direct workload is a must!
